Low Maintenance Plants For The Home And The Office

Growing healthy, indoor plants at home or in your office isn’t just for Green Thumbs. Many varieties of plants can thrive indoors and need little to no maintenance. Besides for their detoxifying benefits, plants can also add to any rooms decor and give you office a more inviting feel. Here are a few ideas.

Cacti: Whether it’s a garden full or just one, cacti are unique and have character that is incomparable to most other plants. Their adaptability makes them suitable for indoors and makes them one of the most maintenance free plants ever.

Ficus: This tree’s unique look and many different variations have caused a surge in these plants popularity. Requiring minimum light and heat, their an excellent indoor plant and also a nice conversation piece.

Moth Orchid: This indoor plant is popular not only for it’s beauty but also for it’s air-purifying qualities. It’s dramatic colors can be seen in 2-3 month periods twice a year and may be the most colorful indoor plants that you’ve seen.

Herb Topiary: Both pretty and practical, the topiary versions of herbs are much easier on the eye than growing them all in one pot. These little trees do require certain amounts of light but watering is a cinch since herbs roots are never to be “soaked.” Certain herbs are also known to bloom periodically, which gives your display sudden burst of color against a beautifully green backdrop.

Moss garden: Growing moss indoors seems unusual due to the amount of water that it takes for moss top thrive. But placing different types of moss inside a glass jar or pretty cake stand can be a great way to add plant life to your office. It’s quick growing and there are so many different varieties that there is sure to be one that suits your style.
